The development process of solventless lamination.
Solventless lamination technology originated in Germany in the 1970s. In 1974, the German company Herberts began industrial production of single-component solventless adhesives, marking the official promotion of solventless lamination. In the 1980s, solventless lamination technology developed rapidly in developed countries such as Europe and the United States. By the late 1990s, Japan also began to pay attention to solventless lamination and made some progress. Solventless lamination has gradually become the dominant lamination technology in countries such as India, Russia, and Brazil.
Currently, in Europe and the United States, the proportion of solventless lamination has reached 70-80%, and about 90% of newly added lamination machines are solventless.
In 1984-1985, the Beijing Institute of Chemical Technology introduced solventless polyurethane adhesive production technology and equipment from Henkel, Germany, marking the beginning of solventless lamination technology in China. Over the next two decades, although China imported about 30 solventless lamination production lines, the overall development of solventless lamination in China has been relatively slow.
In 2008, the first domestically produced solventless lamination machine, independently developed by Guangzhou Sinomech cooperation. was launched in the market. Subsequently, domestic adhesive suppliers also introduced solventless adhesive products, and the promotion of solventless lamination in China officially entered a new development stage.
